Confident, Custom, and Classic — Sean’s UTSA Graduation Photos at Sombrilla Plaza

Graduation season is always a special time, and I recently had the chance to work with Sean, a UTSA graduate, for a custom photo session right on campus. We met through a local nonprofit where Sean serves as an administrator, and his girlfriend Gabby reached out to book the session. She wanted to make sure this big moment was captured the right way — and it was an honor to make that happen.

We shot during the late morning at some of the most iconic UTSA spots: Sombrilla Plaza, the campus banner, and the main staircase. Sean kept things classic with his cap and gown and included some great tassel detail shots for that perfect graduation touch.

The campus really showed off that day — from the bright flowers and greenery to the colorful moniker and clean architecture. One of my favorite shots came from a creative angle: I stayed on the first floor while Sean posed from the second, giving us a unique composition that really stood out. I also loved capturing him from below in Sombrilla Plaza, framing him against the top of the structure to give a powerful, confident vibe.

Throughout the session, my goal was to highlight Sean’s confidence and give him a set of photos that felt true to who he is — proud, accomplished, and ready for what’s next.

What made this session special — and a great example of what I offer at Tower Photography — is how customizable the experience can be. Whether it's location, vibe, or creative ideas, every session is built around you and what matters most in this moment of your life.
